Kindness
Today is World Kindness Day, also Friday the 13th but we are going to focus on kindness!
I wanted to make a list of 10 things you can do to spread some kindness around you
- Give someone a compliment
This can be to someone random or someone you know. With the pandemic, you can do this virtually by commenting on someone’s social media with some compliments and encouraging words.
Cards I sent
my friends- Send someone a nice note or card
- Love snail mail, and supporting the USPS at the same time. It is the perfect way to reconnect with old friends, near and far.
- Say thank you
- All the people in you life or just in general say thank you to them for what they have done for you
- Post a motivational quote
- Inspiring others and lifting some spirits in this time. Here is one of my favorite motivational quotes
- Donate to your favorite charity to help those in need
This does not always need to be monetary. I use Tab for a Cause and Charity Miles. Tab for a Cause uses opening tabs in your browser, while Charity Miles lets you donate to Charities while taking or walk or simply exercising.
Treating myself with a
nice drink and reading- Treat yourself
- Kindness starts with yourself so treat yourself today whether it be some self-care, reading a book, practicing some yoga, or pampering yourself.
- Reconnect with an old friend
- They may have been meaning to reach out and struggling and it may just be a pick me up you need.
- Connect with nature
- With the colder weather coming up, it is nice to go outside and appreciate our Mother Earth. This can be as easy as cleaning up local trails from trash and debris.
- Make something creative for someone in need
- While you are stuck inside you can do this. Some examples are dog toys for the animal shelters or scarves and hats for the homeless.
- Send cards to essential workers
- They are keeping us strong and healthy and risking their lives for us. Sending them a nice note will definitely lift their spirits.
Happy World Kindness Day,
PomPom
